Karen Amiel has more than forty years of fine art, curatorial and business experience. She has advised private and institutional clients in all aspects of collecting and has worked with many of the most prominent collections in both America and Europe, specializing in Modern and Contemporary art. She has considerable experience in all aspects of the artist commissioning process of large scale, site-specific works. As Vice President of Content Development and Promotion and Senior Art Advisor for Artnet.com, she devised many of their projects and services. She has held positions with major galleries including Marian Goodman Gallery, New York and Waddington Galleries Ltd., London. Beginning her career as Curator of the Collection of the Arts Council of Great Britain, London, she catalogued their collection of British art, organized numerous exhibitions, published related exhibition catalogues and advised on art films. Ms. Amiel has a B.A. in Fine Art and Art History from American University, Washington, D.C. and has recently completed the M.F.A. program at San Jose State University, California. She regularly lectures at professional organizations, museums and universities.
